Just like a mini version of Chicago itself, Navy Pier is an ever-evolving, history-infused cultural destination. In celebration of its 100th birthday in 2016, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority announced a grand redevelopment plan to refresh & modernize the amenities of the pier. We’ve proudly supplied brick for a variety of the initiative’s projects, including a swath of masonry repairs to the early 20th century brickwork.
In preparation for the addition of swanky rooftop bar Offshore, we helped the restoration team find the perfect brick match to rebuild and restore the low walls and piers surrounding the perimeter of the new restaurant. A blend of 8″ red brick in two colors — “Market Street” by Summit and “Bradford Molded” from Watsontown — was selected to replicate and infill where needed.
