Look how beautifully the exterior courtyard at Prospect Heights Library is turned out! We were thrilled to be able to work with our friends at Product Architecture to come up with several unique masonry materials for use in this ultra-cool & cozy outdoor gathering space.
The indoor/outdoor fireplace is clad in an “Earth Grey” terracotta rainscreen system by Komproment, a design choice often seen in contemporary European architecture. This cladding solution is excellent at managing moisture throughout harsh Midwestern winters, and comes with eco-friendly acclaim from the Cradle to Cradle Institute. We love the way it looks both traditional and modern all at the same time… just like the library it’s part of!
Across from the fireplace is a multi-level fountain, for which we provided shiny, polished architectural CMU from E. Dillon & Co in the “Heritage” grey color.
