The design of a food court stall for a nationwide coffee chain may not immediately inspire vision boards of masonry products, but creative thinking made this Starbucks location inside Ogilvie Transportation Center really sparkle.
The architects at NORR were looking for a unique store appearance that could be installed in a short period of time. Rainscreen products immediately emerged as a possibility, with the Komproment Vidar “Chelsea” tile system + black clay shingles becoming the eventual selection. This clever, exterior-as-interior solution adds sophistication and class to the location, giving the illusion of a standalone store despite its containment within the dining area of the busy train station.
